Board Departures:
Women Chiropractors expresses our deepest gratitude and extends all our love to our longest standing Board Member and Founder, Dr. Cyndy Shaft, upon completion of her Board term. Having set out to create a means by which women in the field of Chiropractic feel supported, empowered, and connected to one another, she accomplished all of that and more in the creation of Women Chiropractors.
Growing up in the profession, she knew early on that a Woman Chiropractors organization was necessary. After a painful divorce she had to rebuild her life and practice. She soon realized there were so many other women who were chiropractors in similar situations, but didn’t have the community that she had to accomplish what she was able to. It was this realization and driving force that produced this passion to form a woman chiropractors’ organization to enable others to connect and collaborate on how to solve and win at the challenges of our great profession while leaning on their own community and support. She reached out to anyone and everyone she knew, sharing this idea and gathering leaders in the profession to collaborate in this effort. Upon completion, the Women Chiropractors Facebook group went viral, and the nonprofit now is an incredible resource group for females all over the globe.
Women Chiropractors is thankful for your contributions, passion, love, and support that you have poured into this mission and our community over the years. Your term on the board may be done, but we know your servant heart is never finished loving on, advocating for, and advancing women in chiropractic.
We thank you.
New board president:
Women Chiropractors is proud to announce the appointment of a new Board President in 2024, Dr. Cristina Padilla. She has been a powerful asset to our board over the last 3 years, using her talents and immense passion for the organization to further our mission. She says of Women Chiropractors, “
I joined Women Chiropractors Facebook group in 2017 seeking a space and community where I was understood and supported as a young Chiropractor with a vision and a goal to create a difference in my community. From 2017 to present day, this organization has allowed me a platform to find my mentors via the Pro Group, develop my entrepreneurial skills and confidence as a woman Chiropractor with the ReEntry program and aspire to bigger roles in leadership within the profession as a board member. It is truly humbling and exciting to take the role of the new President of Women Chiropractors, following the steps of some of the women I admire the most in the profession. Thanks to them, I am where I am today in life and business, and it is only fair I pay it forward. Thank you again to the Board for choosing me as your next President!”
departing president:
Women Chiropractors expresses its sincerest gratitude to our 2021-2023 Board President, Dr. Michelle Wendling. We are so thankful for the time and talents that she has poured into our board and organization in her time serving. She had stated, upon joining our Board, and echoed upon becoming President in 2021, that “this is a pivotal time for women chiropractors. WDC has been bringing women chiropractors together to share and support each other for years and has become an asset to our profession. … WDC has reduced the walls of competition and built a platform for collaboration and I’m excited to contribute my time and skills to our awesome profession!” She has excelled at exactly that in her time as President. Dr. Michelle Wendling, we thank you and celebrate you!
Here is her departing message, recorded at the end of her Presidential term:
